On November 19, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn unveiling of the monument to Fikryat Tabeev at Danilovskoye cemetery in Moscow.
The party official and politician, former first Secretary of the Tatar district committee of the Communist party of the Soviet Union Fikryat Tabeev died in June 2015 in Moscow at the age of 88.
Tatarstan President said that the contribution of Fikryat Tabeev to social and economic development of the republic cannot be overestimated.
During the years of his service (1960 – 1979) oil-producing industry of the republic was rapidly developing, the town of Nizhnekamsk was founded, the auto giant KAMAZ, the Kama power station, and Nizhnekamskneftekhim pharmaceutical company were established.
