Spring overflow in RT expected to exceed long-term annual average values

Analysis of meteorological conditions appeared in the middle of February give grounds to believe that spring overflow in Tatarstan will exceed long-term annual average values and may reach dangerous marks. It is preliminary data for the moment, final forecast by all rivers of republic will be given on March,10, Head of Department of hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring on RT Sergei Zakharov said at “round table” session on issues of prevention of possible consequences of flood and other emergency situations in connection with spring overflow.
The session was held by First Vice-premier Ravil Muratov. The same winter of 2010-2011 when maximum rates exceeded normal by two times was in 1975-1976, 1978-1979 and 1998-1999.
RT Deputy Minister of civil defence and emergency situations Nikolai Surzhko informed that starting from the current year the procedure of passporting all hazardous acts of nature for the purpose of increasing level of readiness of municipal formations for flood flow is introduced in RT.
Nikolai Surzhko also noted that work on repairing ponds is carried out not properly, hydraulic structures are observed to be breaking up, water filters are being blocked. The Minister asked to pay more attention to monitoring of safe exploitation of hydraulic structures.
According to data given by the Ministry of emergency situations, while preparing for flood flow 2011 the repair of hydraulic structures in city districts and rural areas of republic was implemented for the sum of 47 mln. 144 thousand roubles.
Summing up, Ravil Muratov asked participants of the session to put much emphasis on solving set tasks on the basis of above mentioned facts.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
