Rustam Minnikhanov: "Nizhnekamsk is a future-oriented launching ground of Tatarstan"

22 February 2011, Tuesday
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov made a working trip to the Nizhnekamsk Municipal Region on Tuesday.

The head of the republic took part in the opening ceremony of the military-patriotic center “Patriot”. After that, a session of the Nizhnekamsk Region Council and a session of the Nizhnekamsk City Council were held with participation of RT President.

Head of the Nizhnekams Municipal Region municipal formation, Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin made a keynote report. According to his words, the industrial production index in the region totaled 112.5 percent in 2010. The sum of money from goods sold and services rendered made up 274.5 rubles. 131,000 m2 of housing were commissioned. 464 veterans of the Great patriotic War moved in new apartments.

“Nizhnekamsk is a serious and future-oriented launching ground of Tatarstan,” Rustam Minniklhanov stated at the session.

From RT President’s point of view, one of tasks for the future should be support and promotion of all sorts of housing construction.

The Kama industrial branch is a serious point of Tatarstan economy growth, Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out. Nizhnekamsk petrochemistry, the car industry of Naberezhnye Chelny, SEZ Alabuga, the constructed complex TANEKO produce a considerable volume of production and overload the environment. In these terms the issues of ecology are brought to the spotlight.

President of Tatarstan believes that a complex program of small business development must be created in the region.

According to his words, the only industry which deserves criticism is agriculture. The production volume of agro-industrial enterprises declined from 4.7 to 2.5 percent. “You must take a more active part in the program of creating family farms,” RT President instructed.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked people of Nizhnekamsk for good work in 2010 and wished them success in tackling problems of 2011.
