Russian President Vladimir Putin delivers the Annual Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly

On December 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered the Annual Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly. The Address was traditionally delivered at the Kremlin's St George Hall.

Members of the State Duma of Russia and Federation Council, representatives of the Russian Government, the Public and Accounts Chambers, regional leaders, clergies, public leaders and others were invited to hear the Address.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event.

In his address Putin outlined strategic areas to achieve Russia's development goals for near future.

In particular, the President touched on such topics as counteracting corruption, increasing demographic growth, removing bureaucracy in the sphere of health-care and developing information system, rendering targeted support to sectors of economy in need, import-substituting, reducing the country's budget dependence on hydrocarbon export revenues, developing industrial sector and others.
