On December 6, at their meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Head of the Federal Fishery Agency Vasiliy Sokolov and President of the Union of Sturgeon Breeders Alexander Novikov discussed issues related to development of fishery and increase of fish production in the republic.
Participants of the meeting stressed that a lot of work is to be done to form and develop aquaculture in Tatarstan. It is supposed to use the existing experience of successfully working fish farms.
Alexander Novikov, in particular, noted that the republic is in position to increase the production of fish and fish products. He reminded that the project according to which Tatarstan will be able to produce up to 20,000 tonnes of fish by 2022 is under consideration.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, Aide to Tatarstan President Ravil Muratov and other officials took part in the meeting.
