President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Consul General of Turkish Republic Akhmet Akynty

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Consul General of Turkish Republic in Kazan Akhmet Akynty. The meeting was held in House of RT Government with participation of RT Minister of industry and trade Oleg Vlasov and Aide to RT President Anatoli Krasnov.
Welcoming Akhmet Akynty, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated him on assignment to the position of Consul General of Turkish Republic in Kazan. He noted that Tatarstan and Turkish Republic had been connected by long-standing warm relations.
In opinion of RT President, cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkey contribute greatly into consolidation of intensively developing relations between Russia and Turkey. He also reminded that Tatarstan had become one of the first Russian regions with which Turkey mended mutually beneficial relations in many economic sectors.
Consul General of Turkish Republic in Kazan thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for meeting and said he was happy to become the 8th Consul General in Tatarstan capital.
Akhmet Akynty informed about meeting held with members of RT Government. He underlined readiness of Tatarstan for cooperation and openness towards new joint projects.
Consul General of Turkey in Kazan reminded that today Turkey is one of the most important partners of Russia in many areas of social-economic cooperation. He as well informed that in the middle of March delegation of Turkish Republic headed by Prime Minister Mr Erdogan is going to visit Russian Federation.
In the course of meeting Akhmet Akynty and Rustam Minnikhanov discussed holding the 11th session of Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation. The event is to be held on March 2-3, 2011 with participation of Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Igor Sechin and Minister of energy and natural resources of Turkey Taner Yıldız.
Akhmet Akynty believes that all these actions will present the opportunity to consolidate cooperation, strengthen contacts of Russian and Turkish business and public communities, in particular Turkey and Tatarstan.
Consul General of Turkey in Kazan reminded that at the end of May events dedicated to famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai will be held in Kazan. Besides traditional celebrations of Sabantui will take place, 15 concerts are to be held in Turkish regions.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov informed that many contacts are to be established between Tatarstan and Turkish officials in the sphere of science, culture, economic sector, including construction sphere, energy and trade. He wished Mr Akhmet Akynty successful work in new position and emphasized that Tatarstan authorities would always support Consulate General in Kazan.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
