Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan appreciates high level of relations with Turkey and brotherly Turkish people

On December 7, at his meeting at the Governor’s Palace of the Kazan Kremlin with Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirm, who came on a short trip to Tatarstan during his official visit to Russia,Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan appreciates high level of relations with Turkey and brotherly Turkish people.

Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests and noted that as a Russian region Tatarstan pays much attention to expanding relations aimed at strengthening friendship between Russia and Turkey. He also asked to convey his best wishes to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Minnikhanov continued that the visits of honoured guests from Turkey were the sign of particular attention for the republic. He reminded that he had visited Turkey many times and is going to Ankara by the invitation of the Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci next week.

Tatarstan and Turkey are connected by regular direct flights to Istanbul. Moreover, 10 Turkish enterprises are successfully working in the republic.  

Binali Yildirm highly estimated results of his visit to Russia: “I met Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on my first day in Moscow. We agreed to continue reestablishment of relations and normalization of all contacts, including trade-economic ones, between our countries that were interrupted due to certain reasons.” The meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was also successful, he added.
