On December 8, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) Supervisory Board dedicated to promoting new projects. Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Putin reminded that new projects were discussed at the Strategic Initiatives Forum in July this year. He noted that on this point it is of paramount importance to achieve concrete, tangible results next year, primarily in the development of vocational education and support for initiatives in the social sphere.
Putin also reminded that he had asked the gathered, together with the Civic Chamber, to support the development of volunteerism, socially oriented non-profit organisations. “It is important to eliminate barriers to the development of the volunteer movement and define the format for cooperation between volunteers, non-profits and the state. It is certainly necessary to help those who want to undertake projects in the social sphere and promote important environmental protection initiatives, especially considering that, as you know, we have declared next year the Year of the Environment,” Russian President said.
Aide to Russian President Andrey Belousov, Director General of the ASI Andrey Nikitin, CEO of Sberbank of Russia German Gref and other officials took part in the meeting.
