11 March 2011, Friday
It is important that people feel comfortable during the major repair in their houses, that the builders do not turn into a nuisance for them, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov told a weekly meeting dealing with implementing the law of Russia “On the Fund for the Housing and Utilities Branch Reform” in Tatarstan and the Belekech local project in the part of ensuring vacancies at kindergartens for children.

R.Minnikhanov said the major repair programme for 2011 had been approved – 999 multi-dwelling units are going to be overhauled. The total financing in 2011 is 4.6 billion roubles.

“If there are more possibilities to obtain funding, we will consider such possibilities,” President enhanced. “The selection of contractors has practically been completed. We have instructed the treasury to open financing, where there is co-financing. Municipalities and housing inspectorates should daily monitor the issues, and inform the population.”

Builders should not become a burden for the people, when doing the work. “It is very important that people feel comfortable, that the builders do not turn into a nuisance for them,” he stressed.

The Tatarstan construction minister Irek Faizullin said the work within the programme had been commenced in all the municipalities, except the Mendeleev and Tetyush regions.

The auctions, to select contractors, have been completed in all the municipalities, he went on to say.

“A total of 206 facilities have submitted design specifications for expert review,” Irek Faizullin said. “The issue needs to be efficiently elaborated on in the next two weeks.”
