Rustam Minnikhanov: We can be proud of the success of Tatarstan racers

On December 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a traditional ceremony dedicated to closing the 2016 motorsports season. The meeting summed up results of the season and commended the best athletes.

Welcoming the guests of the ceremony, Minnikhanov pointed out that motorsports is actively developing in Tatarstan. In particular, he praised the KAMAZ-master team.

Congratulating everyone on closing the 21th season, Minnikhanov added that Tatarstan athletes have won a number of prestigious awards. “We can be proud of the success of Tatarstan racers,' he said.

Minnikhanov noted the need to develop all levels of motorsports in the republic. "We need to involve the youth in сarting-clubs and help them master harder levels step by step," he concluded.

After that Minnikhanov handed in state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to the most distinguished racing drivers and sports figures.

Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Road Lenar Safin, Head of the KAMAZ-master team Vladimir Chagin, President of Tatarstan Motorsports Federation Ivan Egorov, pilots and old stagers of regional motorsports took part in the event.
