Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in launching of six new Gazprom compressed natural gas-filling stations

On December 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Gazprom Board Chairman Viktor Zubkov took part in a solemn launching of six new Gazprom compressed natural gas-filling stations (CNG filling stations).

The event was held at a new gas station in Kazan. Five more facilities have been launched in towns of Aznakayevo, Yelabuga, Leninogorsk, Naberezhnye Chelny and Alekseevskoe settlement using video-conferencing. 

Commissioning of new Gazprom stations has increased the regional gas filling network up to 19 facilities, covering all the major towns of the republic. Total capacity of gas-filling infrastructure of Tatarstan went up to 147.6 million cubic meters of natural gas per year, which makes it possible to provide refilling of 7200 cars per day.

In his welcoming speech, Minnikhanov noted that this year alone nine new CNG filling stations have been opened in the republic and this work will be continued. He went on to say that as of today, about 1000 gas-fueled vehicles have been purchased.

Zubkov said that this year 35 new CNG stations have been built, four stations have been reconstructed in Russia. Tatarstan is one of the leading regions in this area, he added.
