Rustam Minnikhanov identifies major “growing points” of Tatarstan economy within the limits of Gaidarov Forum

March, 16. RT President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in work of international scientific-practical conference «Russia and world: in quest of innovation strategy» within the limits of Gaidarov Forum – 2011.
Forum is held in Moscow (Russian academy of national economy and government service under RF President) on March, 16-19.
Speaking to participants of the conference Rustam Minnikhanov told about major “growing points” of Tatarstan economy that may help to bring gross regional product to 65 bln. US dollars by 2015.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that oil sector is the basic sphere in Tatarstan. Republic has confirmed industrially extracted reserves of oil in the amount of 1 bln. tones. Advance methods of increasing reservoir recovery, development of bituminous deposits on the basis of innovative technologies allow keeping volumes of production on the level no less than 30 mln. tones for the last 20 years. In 2011 first launching complex of JSC “TANECO” (Complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants in Nizhnekamsk) will be functioning at full blast. “Increase of processing volumes and high limits of petrochemical production let us hold leading positions in producing polymers, monomers and synthetic rubber.
RT President also told about new project JSC “Ammoni” (Mendeleevsk) and role of automobile industry for Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov also informed that IT sector, bio and nanotechnologies play major role in modernization of economy. He reminded that in these sectors Tatarstan cooperates with “Rosnano”, “Skolkovo”, Russian academy of national economy and other innovative structures.
RT President mentioned as well republican institutes of development - special economic zones, technopolis “Himgrad”, 4 industrial parks, 9 technoparks , 6 investment and venture funds as grounds for development of small and medium entrepreneurship.
Finally Rustam Minnikhanov told about human resources as the main factor of realizing innovative development. Head of Tatarstan believes that the quality of training and professional development of specialists should be brought to the level of world educational standards.

On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
