Tatarstan Prosecutor Ildus Nafikov: We can see that the number of crimes has reduced in the republic

On January 23, Tatarstan Prosecutor Ildus Nafikov made a keynote report at a session of the regional prosecutor’s office on summarizing results of work in 2016 and setting tasks for the current year.

Nafikov noted that the control over the observance of employment law is one of the priority activities of the institution. The number of people, who die at production sites, has decreased due to joint work of the prosecutor’s office and Investigation committee. The arrears in wages have decreased from 29 mln to 12.5 mln roubles, and 44 criminal cases have been opened.

Another urgent problem is backdated wages in rural areas. Alsom special attention is paid to the protection of business.

According to Nafikov, 2016 was announced the Year of water protection areas, and prosecutors together with the Volga environmental prosecutor’s office implemented a set of actions to reveal the most problematic areas. The work will be continued this year.

The prosecutor stated that the number of crimes has reduced in the republic, however, every 7th crime is committed in the Republic of Tatarstan.

it was noted that organization of supervision in counteracting extremist activity and terrorism remains a priority area. The prosecutors have revealed 4.5 thousand violations of law and issued 2700 acts of the prosecutor’s response.

Issues of anti-terrorism security in all public places must be taken under special control, especially on the threshold of the Confederations Cup in Kazan.
