Official meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

On February 7, during his working visit to Saudi Arabia, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had an official meeting with the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. They warmly welcomed each other and remembered their previous meeting in October 2014 during the reception on behalf of the King of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of hajj.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the meeting of the King with the Russian President Vladimir Putin in November 2015 gave impetus to the development of relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Minnikhanov conveyed greetings and warm wishes from the Russian President, who had asked to remind about the invitation to visit Russia.

Rustam Minnikhanov told about economic situation in the republic, main areas of industrial development, implementation of the systems of partner banking and investment projects that might be interesting for businessmen of Saudi Arabia.

Minnikhanov presented KazanSummit as the main site of economic cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries, and invited the delegation of Saudi Arabia to Kazan.

Tatarstan President also noted that he heads the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World” by the order of the Russian President and representatives of Saudi Arabia take part in its sessions. The next meeting will be held in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia are united by religious and spiritual relations.

The president thanked the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for hospitality and invited to the republic.
