1 March 2017, Wednesday

On March 1, at the square in front of State Council of Tatarstan in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov handed in keys from new school buses to heads of municipal regions of the republic.

Minnikhanov said that a school bus is a necessary form of transportation today. According to him, it is important to make conditions for getting education equal - children living in any rural settlement should get the same education as children living in cities.

"Of course, we can not provide large primary schools everywhere. School buses solve the problem getting children from villages to large schools," he said.

Tatarstan President thanked the Russian leadership for the implementation of a number of special programmes for school education. He reminded that these buses in the amount of 51 pieces were obtained under the federal programme. Moreover, Minnikhanov noted that last year the republic also received more than 100 school buses for rural students.

Minnikhanov assured that the programme for the provision of school buses will be continued.
