Prime minister of Tatasrtan awarded winners and laureates of contest “Territory of Law”

Festive ceremony of summation a republican contest «Territory Law» has been held today in Kazan. In the event took part RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, RT Minister of the Interiors Asgat Safarov, Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Commission on law and order Rafil Nugumanov, chiefs of ministries and departments.

The contest «Territory of Law» is held under aegis of RT Cabinet at the initiative of RT Ministry of the Interiors. The contest figures out level of criminality and legal order in the territory of the municipal formations, enterprises, organizations and educational institutions, participation of public organizations, voluntary people’s guard in maintaining law and order, rendering help to the interiors bodies regarding material-technical and social care, holding law-enforcement measures, assistance in prevention of juvenile delinquency.

Champions and prizewinners are determined in 7 nominations in two stages. The first is held in towns and regions of the republic, the second in Kazan - among the winners of town and regional contests. This year 172 chiefs have applied for the competition, 42 of which have become the victors and laureates.

Addressing the participants of a solemn ceremony, Prime minister of Tatartsan Ildar khalikov marked that that for 5 years of holding the contest «Territory of Law» the chiefs of municipal formations of many enterprises and organizations became aware the importance of public work on crime prevention. «More and more enterprise leaders show understanding to the subject and not only respond to the questions and pleas but often themselves come out with the initiatives head of RT Government said.

I. Khalikov thanked public associations involved in issues of safety – voluntary citizen patrol of enterprises and administrations, youth organizations «Forpost». «Out of my own experience I know that «Forpost» is active only when chiefs of the interiors bodies understand how it is important and necessary. This attention pays back today and educates assistants for the future», - RT Prime minister stated.

Head of RT Government thanked chiefs of municipal formations for big organizational and financial support of the law-enforcement agencies.

Appealing the heads of municipal formations, Ildar Khalikov marked that it is necessary to step up the activity of higher educational institutions in maintaining public order. «Our students, our IHLs should be attracted, as it always was and the rectors must be aware of the necessity of solving thse tasks», - I. Khalikov maintains.

Prime minister informed that starting from 2012, the contest «Territory of Law» will be an official contest of the Government of Tatarstan. In opinion of Ildar Khalikov this would enable to raise the value of the contest and bring a serious result.

In the end of his speech I. Khalikov notes with satisfaction that residents of Tatarstan can feel themselves protected. «We already dozen years have been observing a positive dynamics in fighting crime and maintaining law and order. Those who attempt to trespass the rights of citizens, have no chance to live in this republic», - head of the RT Government emphasized.
