24 March 2017, Friday

On March 24, speaking at a video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of all municipalities at the Government House of the republic, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utilities of the republic Irek Faizullin said that since the beginning of the year the State Housing Inspectorate of the republic has conducted 1,180 inspections of multi-apartment houses, which are being overhauled, and has revealed nine cases of safety violations in Kazan and Alekseevskoe settlement.

Faizullin went on to report on the relocation of citizens from dilapidated houses. As for today, 4,312 buy-out contracts for 158,000 square meters have been concluded, that makes 88 per cent. As part of the programme, construction of 65 houses with 7011 apartments is underway in the republic. Seven facilities are planned to be commissioned in the near future.

Under the programme of capital repair of multi-apartment houses, work has been started at 494 of 996 sites in 41 municipalities, the Minister added.

According to Fayzullin, 27 comprehensive schools, 7 correctional schools and 106 kindergartens, 4 children's health camps, 10 resource centers, 44 cultural facilities, 28 teenage clubs, 42 buildings of settlement councils of municipalities of the republic, 24 social facilities and 15 municipal archives are undergoing capital repair.

The programme aimed at upgrading the heating system is underway in Kazan. It is planned to use individual heat supply units for each house instead of central ones. Minnikhanov reminded that all works under this programme should be completed before September 1, 2017.

"We are doing this for the first time. But as a result, we will be able to significantly improve the efficiency of the city's heat supply system," Tatarstan President emphasized.
