On March 29, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in a plenary session “Outlook on the Russian Automotive Industry: Trends, Forecasts, Prospects", which took place during the 3rd International Automotive Forum "TIAF supported by Automechanika”.
Head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Market Monitoring of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade Vladimir Kostyuchenkov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, CEO of the Association of European Businesses Frank Schauff, President of AVTOVAZ Nicolas Maure and other officials took part in the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Khalikov noted that this year the TIAF forum brought together more than 130 Russian and foreign companies. "Thank you all for participating. I hope that your work in Kazan will be as productive as possible,” he told the guests.
Today, cooperation between Tatarstan and the Association of European Businesses is actively developing, the Prime Minister noted. "A large automotive cluster has been formed in the republic, including such giants as KAMAZ Automaker, Ford Sollers and ElAZ production facilities, and a large number of companies, producing auto components, in the Master Kama Industrial Park in particular," Khalikov said.
"I want to note that we are experiencing the most difficult period of the automotive industry in Russia and are expecting a growth recovery. In this situation, the development of partnerships with manufacturers of components from different countries will be extremely beneficial," he said.
Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the republic Karimov reported on the state of the Tatarstan automotive industry. He stressed that the share of the car industry makes more than 10 per cent of the total volume of industrial production of the republic, amounting to about 200 billion roubles, 150 billion roubles of which accounts for cars, and 50 billion roubles - for spare parts and components.
He also noted that there are about 200 enterprises, producing automotive components in the republic with a total output of more than 40 billion roubles.
A number of reports on the strategy for the development of the Russian automotive industry, measures of state support and their effectiveness were also made during the meeting.
