Ildar Khalikov holds regular meeting of the Board of Directors Tatenergo on results of work in 2016

30 March 2017, Thursday

On March 30, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Tatenergo Power Generation Company, which took place at the Zainsk State Regional Electrical Generating Station, because the modernization of this biggest station in the country remains a key issue for the company.

The Zainsk Station is called the flagship of Tatarstan power engineering. Its installed capacity exceeds 30 per cent of the capacity of all regional stations. Despite the technical serviceability of 11 out of 12 blocks (one unit of the station was put out of service in 2009), the power generation decreases every year. The station is not in a position to compete in price with new power generating facilities that are put into operation throughout the country. The energy produced at the Zainsk Station has been unprofitable since 2014.

During the meeting measures that would allow the Zainsk Station to reach the break-even point in the near future were proposed. Among them are minimizing loading conditions during the heating season, reducing the cost of fuel, improving the fuel-handling facilities, reducing the number of personnel and others.

Then, the Board discussed results of work in 2016. The company's power generation amounted to 12,153 million kWh, which is three percent lower as compared to 2015 and four per cent behind the plan.

The company's revenue amounted to 35 billion 642 million roubles, profit from sales - 2 billion 977 million roubles. Net profit of the company made 237 million roubles in 2016. A significant decrease in net profit was caused by the situation with Tatfondbank. However, the meeting noted that this fact will not affect the financial and technical condition of the enterprise.

The Board also discussed measures to improve the reliability and trouble-free operation of the stations.

Director General of Tatenergo Company Rauzil Khaziev told the Board about the programme the company adopted, which is aimed at energy saving and increasing of energy efficiency for 2015-2020. It envisages reducing specific costs for electricity and heat supply by upgrading the main equipment, repairing equipment components, reducing energy consumption for own needs, minimizing equipment loading, and reducing heat losses. The economic effect of the company's energy saving programme for 2015-2016 amounted to 1.4 billion roubles.
