Rustam Minnikhanov: Nizhnekamskneftekhim is the leader of the country's petrochemical industry

On April 5, in Nizhnekamsk, speaking at the annual meeting of shareholders of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Nizhnekamskneftekhim is the leader of the country's petrochemical industry.

Today, Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the world's producers of synthetic rubbers, and expanding existing monomer production facilities and increasing production output of synthetic rubbers should be a matter of priority in 2017-2018, Minnikhanov said. I was informed that in the middle of the second quarter of 2017, as a result of the reconstruction, the volume of rubber output will increase by more than 200 tonnes per day, Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov went on to say that a new ethylene production plant, Ethylene-600 project, and related production facilities for the processing of pyrolysis products remain the industry's main project.

According to the Nizhnekamskneftekhim's development strategy until 2021, tasks are set to produce up to 1 million tonnes of rubber, up to 1.2 million tonnes of ethylene and 1.5 million tonnes of plastics, Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President also thanked the company's employees and senior managers, as well as TAIF Group of Companies for their contribution to the development of the republic and country's industrial potential in general.
