A stage of the Silk Way International Rally will pass through Tatarstan on July 9, 2017

On April 5, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on preparation and holding of a stage of the Silk Way International Rally in Tatarstan.

Chief of Staff of the Office of Cabinet of Ministers of the republic Shamil Gafarov, representatives of ministries and departments took part in the meeting.

Head of Silk Way International Rally project Vladimir Chagin said that in 2017 the rally will start in Moscow on July 7 , finish in the Chinese city of Xian on July 22. As before, the route is laid across Russia, Kazakhstan and China. 

Participants of the meeting were shown a movie about the Silk Way Rally-2016. Last year the route passed through 15 cities in three countries, 125 cars from 40 countries took part in the rally. The total length of the unique route was 10,000 km.

Chagin reminded that in 2017 the Silk Road Way rally will be held for the seventh time. The presentations of the rally were already given in Beijing in December 2016, in Paris in March 2017, and in Moscow the presentation will be made on May 17.

The route of the 2017 rally has been changed. This will allow participants to see new places and new spectators will see the race.

As for Tatarstan, the Silk Way Rally will pass through its territory on July 9 this year.

Summing up the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that the Silk Way rally stage is a significant event for Tatarstan. According to him, it is important to ensure good organization of the event, and most importantly is to ensure the security of rally's participants and its numerous spectators.
