On April 15, speaking at a regional video conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of all municipalities at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov said that large -scale field works will start in the republic in the next few days. He reported that first of all, winter crops and perennial grasses will be fertilized, adding that Buinsk, Zainsk, Apastovsky, Alkeyev, Sarmanovo, Novosheshminsk, Muslyumovo municipal regions have already proceeded to fertilizing.
Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic reported in more details on results of the first quarter of 2017 in the field of livestock farming. "In the first quarter of the current year, results of production activities in the livestock sector of the republic showed positive dynamics," he said.
In the first quarter, as many as 93,700 tonnes of livestock and poultry were produced (bred) in the republic, including 24,500 tonnes of cattle (102 per cent growth), 48,6000 tonnes of poultry (102 per cent growth), and 20,100 tonnes of pigs, Akhemtov said.
He continued to report that 299,600 tonnes of milk were produced (104 per cent growth), 270,700 tonnes of milk were sold, and 225.5 million eggs were produced (107 per cent growth) in the first quarter.
Speaking at the meeting Minnikhanov, noted that spring-field work should be carried out effectively.
