Rustam Minnikhanov: it is necessary to demonstrate advantages of new housing to veterans

“Advantages of new housing construction in comparison with purchasing housing at secondary market should be demonstrated to veterans of Great Patriotic War”, - RT President Rustam Minnikhanov announced at a meeting on issues of housing construction that took place in House of RT Government.

Head of republic informed that for May,19,2011 there are 15275 veterans in Tatarstan queuing for improvement of housing conditions after March,1,2005. 12809 of them have already concluded contracts, 12465 have gained housing.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that republican authorities confirm necessity of allocating additional funds for purchasing housing for veterans on federal level.

President of Tatarstan emphasized advantages of constructing new housing in spite of purchasing flats at secondary market. He separately focused on importance of providing high quality of housing for veterans.

Also the course of whole program of housing construction in Tatarstan was considered at the meeting. According to RT Minister of construction, architecture and housing Irek Faizullin, for May,19,2011 824 m² of housing have been commissioned in republic (34 % of yearly plan). Out of 31 municipal regions 7 have already accomplished annual plan on constructing housing by social mortgage.
