First session of Supervision council on developing venture industry in RT held in Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held first session of Supervision council on developing innovative activity and venture industry in RT. The session was held at Kazan federal university with participation of heads of world leading companies engaged in venture investments.

The objectives of Supervision council on developing innovative activity and venture industry in RT are working out and expert assessment of measures needed for development of venture business and innovative entrepreneurship in RT, consulting of republican departments about actions needed for developing innovative sector and expertise of venture projects.

The Council consists of President of Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, Director of RT Investment-venture fund Ainur Aideldinov, Director-general of JSC “Russian venture company” Igor Agamirzyan, founder and Director-general of Burrill&Company Steven Burrill, Managing Director of «DFJ VTB Avrora» Alexandra Johnson, founder of Asset Management Company Franklin “Pitch” Johnson, Managing director of Trident Capital Don Dixon, Chairman of Directors board of New Enterprise Associates and founder of DCM Doll Dixon, cofounder of New Enterprise Associates and Director of Silicon Valley Bank Dick Kramlich, President of European association Tech Tour Sven Lingyard, founder and managing partner of venture group Yosma Igal Erlich.

Opening the session Rustam Minnikhanov thanked participants for their respond to invitation of Investment-venture fund. He briefly informed the audience about innovative activity in republic and noted that detailed data about all innovative activities in republic would be presented in a report being prepared by RT Ministry of economy.

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov the priority areas of innovative activity are energy efficiency, production of high-tech production and nanotechnologies.
