Vladimir Putin sends his greetings to participants and guests of the 3rd Congress of the Peoples of Tatarstan

On April 22, Russia's President Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants and guests of the 3rd Congress of the Peoples of Tatarstan.

Deputy Head of Rresidential Administration of the Russian Federation Magomedsalam Magomedov read out the text of greetings at the opening of the Congress today.

"Dear friends! I greet you on the occasion of the opening the Congress of representatives of the peoples living in Tatarstan in Kazan. I consider this forum, which has brough together delegates from many cities and regions of Tatarstan, members of public and ethnic and cultural  associations to be a major, landmark event both for the republic and Russia as a whole. Tatarstan is rightfully famous for treasures its ancient history, culture and customs of the many different peoples living here and, above all, the unique traditions of trust, mutual understanding and hospitality,  that have since time immemorial been at the core of interpersonal relations in this country.

I would like to emphasize that the state attaches priority importance to preserving the identity and distinctive character of each ethnicity, strengthening peace, inter-ethnic and inter-faith accord in the country. Therefore, the programme on supporting national languages, schools, cultural and educational centres will be continued and educational, interregional, international projects will be carried out. 

I am convinced that this much needed and serious work requires the joint efforts of state authorities, civil society facilities, scientific and expert communities. I wish you success and all the best. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin," the text reads.
