Sheikh Salekh Abdalla Kamel: Our visit will give rise to establishing stable relations between Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia

“Visit of representative delegation from Saudi Arabia will give new impetus to development and consolidation of relations between Tatarstan and Islamic world”, - President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said at a meeting with Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Salekh Abdalla Kamel.
The meeting was held in Eastern hall at RT Government House.
Tatarstan was presented by First vice-premier Ravil Muratov, Director of Department for external relations - Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Head of Directorate on interaction with religious associations under RT President Marat Gatin, Chairman of RT Committee on developing small and medium entrepreneurship Linar Yakupov , Chairman of Directorate of RT Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageev and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov warmly greeted delegation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia on Tatarstan land. He thanked Sheikh Salekh Abdalla Kamel for finding time to visit Kazan within the framework of working visit to Russia.
By words of RT President Saudi Arabia should pay attention to issues of expanding cooperation with Russian regions. Tatarstan may become the right place for entry of Saudi Arabia enterprises into Russian market.
“Within the limits of this visit we would like to demonstrate you our economic, industrial and investment potential”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said. He briefly characterized industry of the region focusing on oil production and processing, mechanical engineering and aircraft building.
RT President believes that cooperation of Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia may be mutually beneficial in agricultural sector, manufacturing of agricultural products.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Sheikh Salekh Abdalla Kamel discussed issues of cooperation in the sphere of nanotechnologies, education and exchange of students.
On finishing the meeting a Memorandum about mutual understanding was signed between Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
