Rustam Minnikhanov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia in RF

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvian Republic in RF Mr Edgars Skuya. The meeting took place in House of RT government with participation of Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, Director of Department for external relations under RT President Staff – Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Chairman of Committee on developing small and medium entrepreneurship Linar Yakupov, First deputy minister of industry and trade Igor Nosov and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan and Latvia have potential for developing cooperation. According to R. Minnikhanov foreign-trade turnover between Latvian Republic and RT is based upon export of Tatarstan oil and petrochemical products. By the way volume of deliveries of Latvian goods to Tatarstan is rather small.
Edgars Skuya said that Latvia shows interest towards Tatarstan on the part of business community. At today’s meeting the project on organizing network of fast-food restaurants in Kazan by Latvian company «Lido» was presented to Rustam Minnikhanov at the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov supported the project and gave assignment to work out details of its realization.
Edgars Skuya invited Rustam Minnikhanov to visit Latvia with delegation of Tatarstan businessmen.
On 20 December, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and House Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin informed that huge work in capital overhaul of 713 social and cultural facilities have been completed in the republic with the total cost of work of 15bn rubles.
On 20 December, in his address on the occasion of the Russian Security Bodies Officers Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated employees and old stagers of the service with their professional holiday and wrote: “
Throughout the history of our state, security agencies have stood guard over national interests of Russia and protected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Your high professionalism, courage and dedication to duty are a reliable shield against external and internal threats.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
