Kazan to have unified conception of embankment improvement

A unified conception of improving embankment of Kazanka River will be developed and approved in Kazan. Such assignment was given today by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the meeting on issue of reconstructing Kazanka embankment.

The meeting was held in House of RT government with participation of RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of construction, architecture and housing Irek Faizullin, representatives of design organizations and architects.

It was noted that currently the embankment is being already beautified in the area of constructing new football stadium and Palace of water sports.

Presideте of Tatarstan stressed that Kazan needs unified conception of improving Kazanka embankment. Rustam Minnikhanov gave assignment to city’s authorities to develop the conception and discuss it with all stakeholders – ecologists, publics, expert and supervision organizations. Conception should be approved by Kazan State Duma and all future projects connected with embankment improvement will be realized within the limits of this document.

President considers that conception should imply limitations for construction of buildings in the vicinity of the bank.

On finishing the meeting Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin confirmed that the conception of improving embankment of Kazanka River will be discussed with all stakeholders. By his words the document will imply not just construction of embankments but also reconstruction of hydraulic works and storm sewage treatment.
