Mikhail Babich and Nikolai Patrushev accompanied by Tatarstan Prime Minister visit Kazan Aviation Plant production facilities

On May 16, during their working visit to Kazan,  Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian Federation to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich visited production facilities of Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant, branch of Tupolev Company.

The guests were accompanied by Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Director General of Tupolev Company Alexander Konyukhov, Director of Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant Nikolay Savitskikh and other officials.

During the inspection of the production facilities, senior managers of the enterprise reported on the current state of the production programmes of the Tu-214 and Tu-22M3, Tu-160 aircrafts and the modernization of the existing facilities.

"Today, due to to the investment programmes of the United Aircraft Corporation in Kazan, the plant will receive the most advanced technologies in key areas of design, production and testing of modern equipment," Babich said.

Representatives of the plant's management also reported that the modernization of Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant will last until 2020. Installation of modern technological equipment, reconstruction of engineering networks, communications and production areas are currently underway.
