FINA commission arrived in Russia to assess the bid of Kazan for holding World championship on aquatics 2015/17

Inspection commission of International swimming federation (FINA) arrived in Moscow within the frameworks of Kazan bid campaign for holding World championship on aquatics 2015/17.
A meeting of members of commission with Chairman of RF Government Vladimir Putin and Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Vitaly Mutko was held in Moscow on June 14.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, President of FINA, a member of International Olympic committee Julio César Maglione and CEO of FINA Kornel Markulesku attended the meeting.
After the meeting in Moscow the Commission headed for Kazan to get acquainted with hotel, transport and sport infrastructure.
A project of main cluster of championship – the territory between Palace of aquatics and new football stadium meant for 45 000 viewers will be presented to FINA delegation jointed by President of All-Russia swimming federation, four-time Olympic champion Vladimir Salnikov and a member of FINA bureau Gennady Aleshin.
Officials of FINA will also visit swimming pools “Olimp” and “Burevestnik”, Universiade Village, and Lake Sredny Kaban where open water competitions are to be held.
Elections of cities hosting two world championships will be held on July 15 at a session of FINA bureau within the frameworks of 14th world championship on aquatics in Shanghai. Presentation commercials of contender cities will be shown before the final voting. The bid film of Kazan is called “Speed of life” shot by famous Hollywood producer Rupert Wainwright.
The competitors of Russian bid are Mexican Guadalajara, Chinese Guangzhou and Hong Kong, Canadian Montreal that bids for World championship 2017.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
