Rustam Minnikhanov: Kazan will be able to host World championship on aquatics up to the mark

“Kazan with support of Tatarstan Republic and Russian Federation will be able to host World championship on aquatics 2015/2017 up to the mark”, - President of Tatarstan stated at presentation of RT capital to members of inspection commission of International swimming federation (FINA) staying in Kazan.
Inspection commission headed by President of FINA Julio César Maglione arrived in Kazan, one of the cities bidding for hosting World championship on aquatics2015/2017. The delegation is also comprised of CEO of FINA Kornel Markulesku, a member of FINA bureau Gennady Aleshin, Head of marketing and television department of FINA Peter Hall, representative of advertising communications holding Dentsu Akino Fuchi.
In Tatarstan capital guests visited hotel complexes “Korston”, “Riviera”, Kazan Kremlin, Universiade Village, the centre of rowing sports, swimming pool “Burevestnik”. Presentation of Kazan as a candidate city took place in Kazan city hall with participation of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Opening the presentation Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Kazan is one of economic, cultural and sport centres in Russia. World sport community has several times entrusted Kazan with holding big international competitions. Within the frameworks of preparation for Universiade transport infrastructure is developing in the city, the airport is being modernized, new sport objects are being constructed.
“I’m sure that Kazan having necessary infrastructure and experience can host World championship on aquatics up to the mark. We will do our best to realize it ”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Head of Universiade Directorate Vladimir Leonov made detailed presentations of Kazan potential. Later on Rustam Minnikhanov and President of FINA Julio César Maglione answered journalists’ questions.
Mr Maglione informed that in the course of meeting with RF Premier Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, Head of RF government appreciated what things being done in Tatarstan. Vladimir Putin assured that RF government would give necessary support to republic and personally to its President urging to host World championship on aquatics.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
