First Worldskills IT championship to be held in Tatarstan

On June 1, the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Ministry of Communications and the Union "Agency of Development of Professional Communities and Skilled Workers" (Worldskills Russia) “Young Professionals” agreed on cooperation in training and holding of the national competition in the sphere of information technologies.

The agreement was signed during St. Petersburg international economic forum by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Minister of Communications Nikolay Nikiforov, and Director General of the "Agency of Development of Professional Communities and Skilled Workers" Robert Urazov.

Worldskills IT championship is planned to be held in Innopolis in December 2017. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the event will favour the development of staff assistance of IT industry on the basis of international standards, formation of expert communities, and increase in labour productivity.

Students of universities, employees of major enterprises such as Kaspersky Laboratory, Cyber Russia, Rostelecom and 1C will take part in the competitions.

The main competences will be solutions for business, web design, mobile robotics, engineering graphics CAD, and system administration.
