Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in releasing Altai elks to natural habitat

On June 27, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in releasing Altai elks to natural habitat in Verkhneuslonsky region of the republic. Rustam Minnikhanov was also reported on the state of the hunting sector in Tatarstan.

Head of the Department for wildlife protection Fedor Batkov said that the total hunting area makes 6 mln 300 thousand hectares.

He noted that due to the special regional programme the number of roe deer increased from 1200 to 3400.

In general, the dynamics of the population of the main hunting resources is positive. Speaking about supervisory activity, Batkov said that necessary efforts are being taken.  Thus, 600 administrative violations are revealed per year.

Also, 29 criminal cases were opened in 2016.

Eight hunters were deprived of the right to go hunting. Rustam Minnikhanov was reported that in the context of rendering state services to the population citizens can receive hunting certificates.
