Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin comments on the situation on the scene of the road accident in Zainsky region

On July 2, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin commented on the situation on the scene of the road accident in Zainsky region.

Pesoshin said that a passenger bus with 29 people aboard, including a driver, crashed into a KAMAZ truck, which towed a truck tractor.

As a result of the road accident, 14 people died.

After medical examination, three people with minor injuries were sent for outpatient treatment. Another 12 injured with various injuries were taken to hospitals. Two of them received medical treatment and were released for outpatient treatment, five people have moderate injuries and another five injured are in critical condition.

Pesoshin said that Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov issued a decree declaring July 2 a day of mourning.

“Tatarstan Government has adopted a resolution to allocate one-time financial aid in the amount of one mln roubles to the families of the victims of the road accident. The injured people will receive financial assistance, depending on the severity of their condition. People with minor injuries will get 100,000 roubles, with moderate injuries – 200,000 roubles and those in critical condition will be given 300,000 roubles," Pesoshin said, adding that the funds will be allocated from the regional budget.

He also clarified that the financial assistance to the families of the deceased will be provided in the amount of one million roubles per each victim.

Pesoshin said that respective instructions were given to accommodate relatives coming to the victims and to identify bodies in Kazan.

He also said that celebrations of Sabantuy national holiday, which are to be held today, on July 2, have been canceled and postponed a week later.
