President of Tatarstan is on a working visit to Federal Republic Brazil

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is on a working visit to Federal Republic Brazil on August 15-19. It is the first visit of Tatarstan authorities as one of RF regions to countries of Latin America.
The visit is aimed to establishment and development of economic and cultural relations with São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro authorities as economically developed regions of Brazil, investigation of investment climate in Brazil as a country with rapidly expanding economy.
By words of Director of Department for external relations at RT President – Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Mouflikhanov itinerary of a visit includes meetings and consultations with JBS executive and co-chairman of Russian-Brazil business board Mr Marcus Pratini de Moraes, President of BrasilInvest Mr Mario Garnero and others. Several mutually beneficial investment projects will be discussed at the meetings.
President of Tatarstan and his party will see work of port and industrial-logistics complex “Asu” - the largest infrastructure project in Brazil. Besides Rustam Minnikhanov is going to meet with Governor of state Rio de Janeiro Mr Sergio Cabral.
Together with Russia, India, China and Republic of South Africa Brazil is one of 5 rapidly expanding countries in the world (BRICS). Agro-industrial complex is well developed in Brazil. The country takes one of first places in the world by exporting agricultural production. High population size causes cheapness of labor and thus high rate of economic growth. Brazil is the largest state in South America by area and population and is the fifth in the world by the same factors.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
