Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegation of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

On August 30, at the Kazan International equestrian complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Vice-Chairman of the People's Government of China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region Huang Sanping.

Welcoming the guests, Minnikhanov noted that Russian-Chinese relations are of a comprehensive strategic partnership nature. The leaders of the countries consistently maintain a dialogue, attaching great importance to the development of ties between the Russian regions and the Chinese provinces.

"We appreciate the current high level of relations with China and attach great importance to the expansion of our all-round contacts aimed at strengthening friendship and interaction between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China," Tatarstan President noted.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan is actively cooperating with Chinese partners, adding that there is a trade and economic representative office of the republic In Beijing, the General Consulate of China is open in Kazan. He continued that agreements were signed and are being implemented with a number of Chinese provinces, companies and universities, joint activities are carried out in the field of petrochemistry, engineering, information, agriculture, construction, health and other spheres. 

Huang Sanping thanked Minnikhanov for the reception and expressed his hope for further development of friendly relations between the regions.
