On February 8, State Counsellor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met Secretary General of the General Confederation of Trade Unions Vladimir Scherbakov, who arrived in Kazan to take part in a working meeting of member organizations of the International association of trade unions “Electroprofsoyuz”.

On February 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Commerce and Investments of Saudi Arabia Mr. Majed Al-Kassabi and Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani discussed development of trade and economic relations between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On February 7, during his working visit to Saudi Arabia, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had an official meeting with the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. They warmly welcomed each other and remembered their previous meeting in October 2014 during the reception on behalf of the King of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of hajj.
On February 7, during a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tatarstan delegation led by President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the possibilities of mutual cooperation with CEO of Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) Abdullah Al-Dubaikhi.
On February 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on an official visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was met by Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Oleg Ozerov, Governor of Riyadh Province Faisal bin Bandar, Minister of Trade and Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Co-Chairman of Russian-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission Majed Al-Kassabi at the International Airport in Riyadh Province.
On February 6, at a summary session of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Head of the agency Taliya Minullina said that by results of 2016 foreign investments to the republic’s economy made more than 422 mln dollars. The region is more closely cooperating with Western Europe, China, Turkey and the USA.
On February 6, at a meeting on topical issues of the development of Innopolis (the innovative city in Verkhneuslonsky region, Tatarstan), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the main issues are attraction of new residents to Innopolis and supply of companies with qualified workers.
