On September 4, President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and participants of the ceremony on the occasion of the opening of the Bolgar Islamic Academy in Tatarstan.

I congratulate you on a significant event – the opening of the Bolgar Islamic Academy in Tatarstan.

The implementation of this important initiative, which was in demand, became possible due to the creative unity of the credible Muslim organizations, their striving to make a significant contribution to strengthening the spiritual and moral foundations of our society, to the harmonization of inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations.

The Bolgar Academy is intended to revive the traditions of the national Islamic theological school, to become the all-Russian centre for the development of Muslim education. Highly qualified religious figures will be trained, serious scientific and research work will be carried out, and large-scale social, cultural, educational and informational projects will be implemented within its walls.
