On October 20, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Head of Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare Irina Seregina and Minister of Health of the republic Adel Vafin took part in a solemn opening of a new building of city policlinic No. 21 on 103, Richard Sorge Street in Kazan.
Speaking at the event, Minnikhanov noted that the new polyclinic will serve about 60,000 citizens of Kazan. He stressed that the medical institution is equipped with the most modern facilities and meets all modern standards of medical care.
Tatarstan President and other honorable guests looked around the new health facility. Minnikhanov was shown a radiation therapy unit, a room for cardio exercises, a day patient department, a department of internal health and doctors' offices.
The new polyclinic with an area of more than 10,000 square meters will be the biggest one in the city. A total of ten departments, including a reception and information department, a department of infectious disease, an X-ray department, a department of internal health, an emergency department, a department of outpatient rehabilitation, departments of functional diagnostics, disease-prevention service and specialized doctors, a maternity welfare centre and a centre for men's health, will be functioning in the medical facility.
The oncology centre, a branch of the Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary, will be located at the polyclinic to provide medical assistance and rehabilitation for patients with malignant neoplasms.
Moreover, the medical institution will provide services for rehabilitation of patients after operations in cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery and traumatology. There is a special pool for these purposes in the building.
