By the end of 2012 every Tatarstan citizen will be able to make appointment with a doctor online

By the end of 2012 50 % of appointments with a doctor should be made via Internet, infomats and terminals in Tatarstan. It is one of priority tasks in the context of target program “Modernization of RT health care system in 2011-2012” which was made public today at a joint session of the Ministry of health care and Ministry of informatization and coomunications. Tatarstan Premier Ildar Khalikov took part in the event.
Before the session Head of Tatarstan Government overhauled the exhibition of advanced developments in the sphere of health care informatization, in particular a tablet computer for medical personnel, the system of distant consultations based on Children republican clinical hospital, unified data base of electronic medical cards.
Vice-premier – Minister of informatization and coomunications Nikolay Nikiforov reported on planned actions in the context of target program “Modernization of RT health care system in 2011-2012”. They include network assembly, equipment delivery, information security, and implementation of special medical software.
By words of Nikolay Nikiforov making distant appointment with a doctor and maintenance of medical cards in electronic format will be the priority services. By the end of 2012 the percentage of distant appointments in republic should make 50 % and medical electronic cards – 25 %, Minister of informatization and coomunications informed.
PM Ildar Khalikov marked upon implementing new systems it is important to provide feedback with doctors.
Minister of health care Airat Farrakhov told about activity of the institution on granting state services in health care in electronic format.
Summing up, Ildar Khalikov stressed doctors still have to do a lot of paper work spending 20 % of their time for completing various documents. At the same time health care industry is the leading one by the number of services rendered to the public. These factors speak about the need for implementing information systems in order to improve the quality of services.
According to Ildar Khalikov Tatarstan has already obtained experience in this area, there are concrete tasks and pilot projects. “It is very essential to carry out the process of informatization at all levels. The federal program of health care modernization is our chance we should use to improve the quality of health care services in Republic”, PM said.
Finally Ildar Khalikov granted state awards to several doctors.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
