Strategy of state anti-drug policy in Russia till 2020 discussed in Tatarstan Government House

By the data for October 1, 2011 9631 drug addicts are registered in Tatarstan Republic, Chief of Federal service on control over drugs circulation on RT Fayaz Shabaev informed at a meeting in RT Government House.
The meeting was dedicated to implementation of the RF Strategy of state anti-drug policy till 2020 in Tatarstan. Director of Federal service on control over drugs circulation Viktor Ivanov and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event.
Speaking about situation in Tatarstan and measures on its improvement Fayaz Shabaev informed within the last three years the number of registered citizens does not exceed 1 %. It mainly increases due to unemployed young people under 30 years old.
According to Fayaz Shabaev lately the market is filled with cheap synthetic drugs. Some of them are brought in from China. 35 new kinds of drugs have been identified this year.
Tatarstan health care minister Airat Farrakhov reported on drug-prevention measures. He told about new forms of primary measures which have been used in Tatarstan since 2006, - preventive examination of students and draftees. More than 700 thousand people have been examined for this period and 916 drug addicts were found.
By the way, the number of addicts has decreased in Republic since 2006. Today other subjects of the federation are interested in Tatarstan experience in this sphere, Airat Farrakhov stressed.
Director of Federal service on control over drugs circulation Viktor Ivanov reminded about adoption of several documents aimed at anti-drug safety and handling urgent problems in the sphere of drug-related crimes.
The problem mainly concerns young people aged 30-35. Overdose and pathologic changes of vital parts are the main reasons of deaths, Viktor Ivanov marked.
By his words police measures are not enough to solve the problem, the demand for drugs is also a rather urgent issue. Head of Federal service on control over drugs circulation informed that every week new kind of drugs is synthesized in the world.
Viktor Ivanov thinks the issue of nacrotization concerns all industries – health care, education, culture, youth and sport organizations, and all religious confessions.
A video conference with participation of Kazan, Moscow, Lipetsk, Kaluga, Belgorod on issue “Leading regions free from desomorphine. Unique experience of four Russian subjects” was held in RT Cabinet later on.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
