Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Chairman of JSC “Rosnano” Board Anatoly Chubais. Mintimer Shaimiev told about cultural-historical project of federal character “Cultural heritage of Tatarstan: ancient town of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk isle-town”.
Anatoly Chubais examined the exposition presenting main objects being restored by the “Republican Fund of historical and cultural monuments of Tatarstan restoration”, models of historical monuments and new buildings in Sviyazhsk and Bolgar.
Mintimer Shaimiev told VIP guest about the history of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk, restoration and construction works in these towns. Explaining the idea of such major project Mintimer Shaimiev highlighted that restored sacred places of Islamic and Orthodox religions demonstrate a palmary example of tolerance, peace and harmony.
Anatoly Chubais said that while staying in Bashkiria he was told about the revival of Bolgar town where Islam was voluntarily adopted in 922. “Islam is the second supporting point of the Russian civilization. It is right that you are restoring such a historical place”, he said. Anatoly Chubais appreciated the importance of the project.
Mintimer Shaimiev invited Anatoly Chubais and his family to visit Bolgar and Sviyazhsk next summer. Anatoly Chubais accepted the invitation hoping to see these reviving ancient towns.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
