Tatarstan President inspected construction of railway branch to airport “Kazan”

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has got acquainted with realization of project on organizing inter-modal transportations from the international airport to railway station of Kazan. Chief of Gorky railway Anatoly Lesun also took part in the detour.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Anatoly Lesun passed by the railway branch from the railway station to the international airport “Kazan”. At the airport Tatarstan President inspected the process of construction of the railway overpass - the final section of Aeroexpress trains’ route. Later on Head of Republic viewed new terminal 1A under construction.
13 km of new rail-sleeper netting, 16 railroad switches have already been laid at the section Kazan-Airport. Reconstruction of platforms at “Kazan” station and construction of overground overpass have been started.
By and large, the following is to be realized, - reconstruction of the existing railway section 23,5 – km stretch, construction of 2,8 – km new railway, and suburban station “Kazan”, construction of pavilion with boarding platforms at the international airport “Kazan”, and seven passenger platforms. Forecasted traffic volumes: 12-16 Aeroexpress company trains for carrying air passengers from the centre of Kazan to the airport, 5-7 suburban trains for residents of Laishevo region and summer visitors, and 2-4 goods trains.
The trip on Aeroexpress company trains from the railway station to international airport “Kazan” will take 20-25 minutes.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
