Ildar Khalikov meets with trade union activists of Tatarstan

A traditional annual meeting of Tatarstan Government with trade union activists of Republic was held today in Kazan. The meeting was held by RT Premier Ildar Khalikov with participation of Vice-premier – Head of RT Cabinet Staff Shamil Gafarov, Vice-premier – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, chiefs of ministries, departments, and Tatarstan trade unions.

Members of trade unions told about a number of problems, in particular transferring state institutions to autonomous ones. Ildar Khalikov dispelled worries about possible worsening of the situation and assured that a set of guarantees ensuring competence of autonomous institutions are stipulated by the law.

Members of trade unions in transport sphere told about difficult financial state of organizations engaged in passenger transportations. Ildar Khalikov agreed with the mentioned problems and said the republican authorities are trying to solve them.

Commenting the words of a member of trade union of defense enterprises Ildar Khalikov said it is necessary to develop the civil area in order to decrease dependence on the government order. The PM addressed Ministry of industry and trade and Investment development agency with request to support enterprises in this issue.

Ildar Khalikov paid special attention to the lack of skilled personnel and unemployment. Republican enterprises are developing, new plants are being constructed in Republic. The problem of providing skilled personnel is very important at these enterprises.

Though there are professional institutions in Republic young people have problems with employment after graduation. “This problem is our common fault. There are no any objective reasons. The Ministry of labor, employment and social protection should work more efficiently”, Ildar Khalikov said.

Members of trade unions were interested in rise in tariffs for housing and communal services. Ildar Khalikov marked the situation was caused by several reasons including the need for increasing the salaries of the employees of extractive industries and energy sector.

Ildar Khalikov informed with pleasure that in 2011 Tatarstan was the leader among regions of Volga Federal District by rates of salary increase. PM reminded that republican leadership made serious decisions regarding salaries in educational sector and read out the resolution of Tatarstan President about transferring to industry-specific payment for labor from July 1, 2012.

PM informed about major programs of social and economic development of RT that are being now implemented and meant to be realized.

Summing up, Ildar Khalikov said he hopes for efficient cooperation with trade unions and emphasized realization of the mentioned programs is impossible without their support.
