Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Head of representation of BBC World News in Russia Sergey Stanovkin

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Head of representation of BBC World News in Russia Sergey Stanovkin. The meeting was held in RT Government House.
Cooperation in the sphere of promoting Tatarstan in the world arena, and realization of projects in the context of preparation for summer Universiade – 2013 in Kazan were discussed at the event.
At the meeting Tatarstan was presented by Director of Department for external relations – Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Head of Republican agency for press and mass communications Marat Muratov, Director of ANO “Executive office of XXVII World summer universiade – 2013” Vladimir Leonov.
According to Sergey Stanovkin BBC World News has been successfully cooperating with Tatarstan Republic for a few years. The following projects have been realized during this period: Tatarstan advertising campaign at World economic forum in Davos (January 2011), Tatarstan advertising campaign at the international tourism exhibition in London «World Travel Market» (November 2011) when tourism and investment potential of Tatarstan Republic was presented.
Head of representation of BBC World News in Russia reminded as well that in the context of “Russia Business Report” a big piece about Tatarstan was shown on BBC.
“Representing this TV channel we want to assist in making both commercial and non-commercial information about Russia public on BBC”, Sergey Stanovkin said. By his words, this issue has been working out since 2006. BBC is extending cooperation with Moscow (promotion of tourism potential), Nizhny Novgorod (one of the first advertising campaigns of Russian regions), St.Petersburg and Tatarstan.

On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
