9 December 2011, Friday
Positive results of the federal target program “Traffic safety for 2006-2012” are being observed in Tatarstan. The number of people dying in road accidents, severity of consequences and injury rate are decreasing. Still work on improving the situation should be continued.
Such opinion was today expressed by Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov at a joint session of RT Cabinet and RT interior ministry board held in RT Government House. The session was dedicated to traffic safety in Republic.
Opening the session Head of Republican Government marked every year Tatarstan economy suffers a loss of 25 bln roubles due to road accidents. The federal target program “Traffic safety for 2006-2012” was developed and is being implemented in Russia to decrease the number of road accidents and death rate. By words of Ildar Khalikov realization of the program brings real results.
Head of the Department of State traffic safety inspectorate at the interior ministry on RT Rifkat Minnikhanov informed about the results in his report. He also noted the fact of successful program realization. Though, he said some municipalities work on ensuring traffic safety not efficiently enough.
Addressing heads of municipalities Ildar Khalikov stressed republican parameters of death and injury rate decrease are defined by on-site work.
RT Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov informed in 2011 the number of road accidents with participation of school buses and the number of injured children increased.
In the course of session Ildar Khalikov required to investigate the road accident which happened in Rybno-Slobodsky region (Tatarstan) with participation of a school bus transporting 20 children. The PM also reminded a lot of funds are spent in Republic on construction and repair of roads. For example, 6 bln roubles were allocated for these purposes in 2011.
Ildar Khalikov also asked heads of ministries about the use of GLONASS+112 system. “A lot of funds were invested into the system. It should be used for solving operative tasks and current control over situations”, I.Khalikov is sure.
Summing up Tatarstan PM once again highlighted the importance of discussed problem. “Though statistics and our joint work show better results, the percent of dead people is still high”, Ildar Khalikov said. Thus, ministries, agencies and municipalities have to continue working on increasing traffic safety.
