Rustam Minnikhanov grants Order “Of merits before the Republic of Tatarstan” to Hero of Socialist Labor Nikolai Frolov

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Hero of Socialist Labor Nikolai Frolov. Head of Republic congratulated him on 80th anniversary and granted the Order “Of merits before the Republic of Tatarstan” for longstanding active work for the good of Republic, considerable contribution in development of veteran’s movement. Rustam Minnikhanov also gifted a new car to Nikolai Frolov.
Nikolai Frolov in his turn thanked Tatarstan leadership for support being rendered to veterans and wished Rustam Minnikhanov strong health and long-term work for the good of Republic. He told as well about his childhood dream to work on a large industrial enterprise.
Nikolai Frolov was born on December, 13, 1931 in Volkovo village (Verkhneuslonsky region). After school he came to Kazan and worked at footware factory “Spartak”. After military service Nikolai Frolov worked at the plant “Radiopribor” for many years. In 1970 he was elected a member of the plant’s party committee. For valorous work he was awarded a title of Hero of Socialist Labor.
From 1972 till 1991 Nikolai Frolov was a member of regional party committee bureau. Since 2000 he has been actively participating in life of public organization “Heroes of Tatarstan” holding a post of Deputy board chairman.
Nikolai Frolov wished good luck in holding Universiade 2013 and thanked for the gifted car.
Currently labor veteran is implementing work with the youth. “I teach young people to be more kind to elderly people, tell about the importance of public work”, he said.
Tatarstan Minister of labour, employment and social protection Airat Shafigullin, Aide to RT President on social issues Tatyana Larionova, Chairman of public organization “Heroes of Tatarstan” Ildus Mostyukov took part in the meeting.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
