Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Ombudsman on children rights to RF President Pavel Astakhov

Ombudsman on children rights to RF President Pavel Astakhov has arrived in Tatarstan with the inspection visit. He came to Kazan from the Chuvash Republic where he had got acquainted with work of children's homes, orphanages and special medical institutions.
We remind by and large Pavel Astakhov has already visited 70 regions of the country.
At today’s meeting with the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov Pavel Astakhov touched upon issues of ensuring children’s rights, problems of social orphanhood, cases of children suicide and rendering psychological help to children and juveniles.
In the event took part Deputy PM Zilya Valeeva, Aide to RT President on social issues Tatyana Larionova, Ombudsman on children rights in RT Guzel Udachina.
Pavel Astakhov has come to Tatarstan for the first time. The itinerary of his visit includes visits to special school for children and juveniles with deviant behavior (Levchenko), Republican special children’s home (Yamashev str, 88a), Kazan boarding school № 4 with ICP (Zarya str, 11), Privolzhsky children’s home of Kazan (Agronomicheskaya str, 14) and other objects.
Pavel Astakhov will also held a meeting with heads of representatives and executive state and municipal authorities of RT and chiefs of territorial executive authorities of Russia on RT in RT Government House in format of video conference. Upon completion of the meeting Pavel Astakhov is expected to answer questions of mass media.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
