Ildar Khalikov: Tatarstan students lack ambitiousness

Tatarstan students should be more ambitious and take an active part in realization of various projects, RT Premier Ildar Khalikov stated at a meeting with leaders of Tatarstan student self-government which was held at Kazan federal university.
In the event took part Vice-premier of RT Government - Minister of informatization and communications Nikolay Nikiforov, Head of Republican agency for press and mass communications Marat Muratov, chiefs of ministries, agencies and other officials.
Trilateral agreement about interaction between republican Government represented by PM Ildar Khalikov, Council of rectors of RT universities headed by the Chairman and rector of Kazan federal university Ilshat Gafurov, and RT Student league led by the President Timur Suleimanov was signed within the confines of meeting. The document is an important condition for protecting rights and maintenance of social guarantees and benefits of RT students.
Timur Suleimanov presented key projects of the Student league and activity on supporting students’ initiatives. By his words, within 15 years of the Student league activity work in this sphere has been well-organized.
According to Head of the Student league organization has set new tasks in terms of student employment, development of student mass media, and support of students’ initiatives in cultural and sports spheres.
In the course of meeting with Ildar Khalikov students asked several questions regarding opening of student hospitals and stations in big cities, organization of year-round profile student shifts.
“It is great you are engaged in interesting proceedings. Don’t lose it, it will help in your future life. Still I wish you to be more ambitious”, Ildar Khalikov said addressing republican students.
“There is a set of measures and projects, and republican budget for 2012 provides funding for their realization. Take these funds, you will do good to students, ministries and agencies”, PM is sure.
Ildar Khalikov marked the Government will be glad to receive suggestions from students in terms of realization of projects in the sphere of culture and sport. “In the context of project “Universiade 2013” it is just the beginning. We will observe development every minute, every hour. The Games bring sport objects, infrastructure, Universiade Village and many other things. Many Russian and foreign students may envy Kazan students in this respect. We have to use this infrastructure in full”, PM said.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
