Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov has visited Gabala city during his two-day working visit to Azerbaijan. Head of republican government and members of Tatarstan delegation visited canning plant and piano factory.
To the point, Head of Tatarstan ministry of emergency situations Rafis Khabibullin, deputy of RF State Duma Irek Boguslavsky, Chairman of “Ak Bars Bank” Board Robert Musin, first vice Minister of industry and trade Igor Nosov, first vice Minister of forestry Kharis Musin, vice Minister of informatization and communications Anatoly Geller are on the delegation.
The canning plant in Gabala is a complex of workshops for processing fruits and vegetables grown in precincts. Produced juices are sold in Azerbaijan and exported in Russia.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov appreciated the level of enterprise. In his opinion, an important feature is that all juices are natural.
Head of republican Government marked that the canning plant in Gabala is similar to agro-industrial park being constructed in Kazan where agricultural production of local farmers is processed.
The founder and owner of piano factory “Beltmann piano” in Gabala is a Dutch master Hans Leferink. In 1901 his great grandfather Johann Beltmann founded a workshop of musical instruments in Holland, but the family factory closed in 2002 and Leferink opened new enterprise in 2008 in Azerbaijan. 135 people work at the factory. They produce about 1000 musical instruments per year priced at 9 thousand euro each.
Ildar Khalikov thanked Hans Leferink for conducted tour of the plant.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
